Eric Morgenstern, APR, Fellow — Founder and CEO
Eric provides strategic communications consulting, executive counsel, and persuasive presentation coaching and training to executives and C-level leaders throughout the KC region.
Eric is an executive consultant with a focus on leadership and communications. He helps leaders clarify their message, connect with the people who matter most, and change attitudes and behaviors.
Eric began his career in client management at Brewer Advertising, the Y&R office in KC. He also served as a national spokesperson for Hallmark Cards as manager of public information. He was President and COO of Boasberg Valentine Radford, prior to co-founding Morningstar Communications in 1997 with his wife, Shanny.
He helped create KC Rising and continues to serve as Communications co-chair. He served on the KC Chamber Board for six years. He currently volunteers on the Board of Directors for the KC Jewish Federation. He serves as a strategic advisor for the KU Journalism School IMC Master’s program and KU J-School Generations. His shares his passion for childhood literacy through his work on behalf of Turn The Page KC.
Eric has been recognized by peers locally and nationally with numerous lifetime achievement awards including the PR Professional of the Year and Fellow distinctions from PRSA, and Entrepreneur of the Year and Arthur Lowell Lifetime Achievement awards from KC/IABC. Eric received a B.S. degree in Journalism from The University of Kansas. He was awarded the “Fellow” distinction following a rigorous application and peer review process that culminates in inducting into membership these ‘best of the best.’ Election to the College is considered the pinnacle of one’s career.
He frequently delivers keynote presentations, moderates panel discussions and presents to leadership groups.
Eric enjoys spending time with Shanny, their grandchildren Cy and Anna, their adult children, growing flowers, and playing bass guitar in a rock-and-roll band.
